What is a cash drawer?
A cash drawer is a receptacle for the storage of coins, notes and vouchers at the point of sale. Cash Bases cash drawers are constructed out of sheet steel, with steel ball bearing runners and a choice of additional options, colours and interfaces.

Do you supply and fit?
No, we only manufacture. Cash Bases supply bulk orders to distributors or integrators of EPoS equipment who are also responsible for the fitting and subsequent maintenance of your cash drawer.
Do you repair cash drawers?
Cash Bases are able to offer a repair service for our own manufactured products. Click here for more...
Do you provide on-site support if I have a technical problem?
Naturally we will do everything we can to assist our customers, but in the first instance your enquiry should be directed to your distributor or integrator.

How should I use and manage the cash drawer keys?
If you have chosen a key and lock option for your cash drawer then each Cash Bases cash drawer is shipped with two keys on a ring. For security reasons, the keys are only available to the store manager. Cash Bases recommends that users DO NOT leave the keys in the lock.
I have lost the keys for our cash drawers. Do you supply a replacement?
In most instances yes. You will need to make a note of the serial number of the lock on the cash drawer. However, if the cash drawer has a random lock, the whole lock may need to be changed.
What options do I have for opening a cash drawer?
There are several options for opening a cash drawer, either mechanically or electronically. See our Cash Drawer Technical Interface Flow-Chart [PDF doc] for your specific interface requirements.

The cash drawer would not fire open?
A number of reasons can cause this to happen. Check to see if the drawer is not locked or if items within are jamming the mechanism. Otherwise we suggest you contact your systems integrator to send for an engineer.

How do I get spare parts for the cash drawer?
We are able to supply spare parts for your Cash Bases cash drawer [minimum order quantity required] Please contact your regional sales office with your requirements

Can I connect a Cash Bases cash drawer to a personal PC?
Yes. You will need to purchase a drawer with a serial RS232, USB or Parallel port cable fitted.

Should a cash drawer be bolted down to the checkout?
Yes, and every cash drawer must be bolted down to gain the safest and most secure position. Each cash drawer has one or more bolt holes within the base plate. Please refer to the installation instructions for your drawer.

I want to suspend a cash drawer underneath the work counter.
What is the best way of doing this?

Use an under counter mounting bracket or mounting cradle. These have bolt holes for fixing the cash drawer in place, and can be designed to fit under most counters.

I wish to have a manually operated cash drawer. Is this possible?
Yes it is. We can provide some of our cash drawers with a key release only mechanism or a 'push push' mechanism, whereby a slight push on the unlocked drawer front will open the drawer and a firmer push will close the drawer.

I am looking for a special size, type and colour of cash drawer.
Can you supply?
Cash Bases are the world's largest designer and manufacturer of customised cash drawers. Our CustomPlus range allows for your specific requirements to be met. Please contact your regional sales office for further information.
